Avery Choate, MA Candidate, LMHC Intern

Avery Choate Avery (she/her) is a master’s level LMHC intern, studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University Seattle, expecting to graduate in August 2026. She is interning under the supervision of Lynda Loncar, MA, LMFT, Approved Intern Supervisor. 

Avery utilizes an integrative approach to counseling, pulling from various theories and modalities, in order to tailor her approach for each unique client. Avery places an emphasis on building a collaborative and safe environment for the client within session and believes building a foundation of trust is essential for a therapeutic relationship. Avery seeks to provide a place for clients to experience their emotions, connect to their strengths, build resiliency, and work towards their goals. 

Avery is building upon previous experience in the mental healthcare field, which provided a better understanding of both individual, familial, and systemic influences that shape her client’s lives. With this knowledge she hopes to help clients navigate and cope with both internal and external stressors.  

Avery works with teens and adults ages 13 and up of all different cultures, identities, orientations, and backgrounds. 

Avery is in network with Coordinated Care, Community Health Plan of WA, and Aetna insurances.
